Ellis Freeman

 

Ellis is a London born screenwriter and writing teacher.  His credits include Princesa,  which screened at Sundance and won best foreign narrative at the LA Outfest; comedy feature, January 2nd  and the acclaimed short, Coming Down.

He began his teaching journey at the London Film School over twenty years ago where he developed The Writers Gym, a series of creative workshops for screenwriters, directors and producers. The workshop became a laboratory to explore writing, the creative process and the nature of storytelling itself.

Over the years, he has taken the gym to many film schools and other artistic institutions including the Film London, the AFI conservatory in Los Angeles; The Scuola Holden in Turin; Calarts; Famu in Prague; the Zurich University of the Arts; the Alma Löv Museum in Sweden and the Berlinale Talents.

 

For five years he was Head of Screenwriting at the DFFB in Berlin where he still teaches regularly and mentors. He also works as script consultant on features and shorts as well as mentoring emerging writer/directors in their development process.

Lucy has developed and produced scripted comedy-drama for  ITV1, BBC3, BBC4, Channel 4 and Sky, and has over 20 years experience as an award-winning TV and radio producer.

Udayan Prasad

Director

Udayan Prasad is a multi-award-winning director whose earlier films include the MY SON THE FANATIC by Hanif Kureishi and BROTHERS IN TROUBLE, winner of the Golden Alexander Award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. He also directed THE YELLOW HANDKERCHIEF starring William Hurt, Maria Bello, Kristin Stewart, and Eddie Redmayne, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released in the US by Goldwyn Films.

 

Television projects includes several with the British writer Simon Gray including RUNNING LATE, winner of the Gold Gate Award for Best Television Feature. And two BAFTA-nominated collaborations with Alan Bennett: TALKING HEADS 2: PLAYING SANDWICHES and 102 BOULEVARD HAUSSMANN, winner of a second Gold Gate Award.

 

Recent work comprises of BECOMING ELIZABETH and SELECTION DAY, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s Booker prize-winning novel for Seven Stories and Netflix, on which Udayan was lead director and executive producer. He also helmed the closing episodes of BBC TV's THE MUSKETEERS.

 

When not in production, he runs workshops on directing and screenwriting at several film schools including The London Film School, The Wajda School in Warsaw and the National Film Television and Theatre School in Łódź, Poland. Dan Clifton

Dan Clifton is an award-winning writer and director working across documentary and fiction, often on projects at the intersection of the two genres.

Recent work includes feature documentary THE CONSPIRACY: ASSASSINATION IN BEIRUT; and sci-fi short TRIGGER.CHARLIE.ONE, featuring David Morrissey.  KILLING OF LEBANON. Claire Russell

Claire has worked in the film and television industry for over 25 years, starting with Walt Disney Studios in Los Angeles in the ‘90s. She transferred back to London and became Development Executive for the new UK Disney Channel, working on award-winning children’s programmes, including a comedy drama penned by Mark Haddon. She then moved to CBBC, where she developed teen dramas such as CAVEGIRL with Danny Peacock. 

Following this, she relocated to the north as BBC Scotland started up the indigenous soap RIVER CITY. Claire then moved to Scottish Television as Development Executive, developing and script editing REBUS starring Ken Stott.

Claire produced two dramas for World Producers (makers of LINE OF DUTY) for C4 and Sky and most recently produced HOLBY CITY and script editing FATHER BROWN. She has been working with three upcoming writers as part of the prestigious C4 Screenwriting Scheme 2023.

Carl Schoenfeld

Carl has over three decades’ producing experience in the film and TV industries, where he developed innovative approaches across filmmaking, financing, talent development and education. His ventures with the BBC, Channel4/Film4, Medienboard Berlin, and the BFI have embraced emerging technology, explored new workflows and kick-started the international careers of the talent involved. Carl produced My Brother Tom (starring an unknown Ben Whishaw), developed the third series ‘mother of all boxed sets’ Heimat with German auteur Edgar Reitz, and set up the Raindance production arm, Raindance Rawtalent. He co-produced Simon Rumley’s international breakout feature The Living and the Dead, and is now developing feature films with him. Fiona Howe

Fiona Howe is an experienced producer of feature films and television drama. She is joint Managing Director of Scenario Films, most recently producer of three award-nominated feature films – DESIRE, DELIGHT and DELIRIUM – collectively known as The D-Trilogy. As Programme Director of BABYLON, Scenario’s development initiative for film writers, directors and producers from diverse backgrounds, she has kickstarted the careers of over a hundred emerging filmmakers across the UK and continental Europe.

Prior to founding Scenario, Fiona worked for many years in TV and film production management at the BBC, as a script editor and development producer at ITV, and as a script writer for German, French and British television before focusing on feature film production. Credits include Medics for ITV/Granada, original format and 13 hours of RTL weekly drama series Sonntags Geöffnet/Open Sundays; TV Movies Un Cadeau la Vie/The Gift of Life (FR2) and Nicht Ohne Dich/Not Without You (ZDF). Rebecca Morton

Production Designer, Set Decorator, Art Director

Production Designer, Set Decorator, Art Director Rebecca Morton has over 25 years’ experience working in all levels of TV and film. She originally trained in Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art and when on to design sets and costumes for various dance and fringe productions. In 1996 Rebecca got her first break in TV becoming the design assistant for Ragdoll Productions’ Teletubbies. She was responsible for building the original card models, technical drawings and concept visuals as well as sourcing suppliers and props ahead of filming the original episodes.

Rebecca then art directed light entertainment shows for London Weekend Television at The London Studios which later became ITV. She worked on live celebrity chat and music shows such as Clive Anderson’s All Talk and Cilla’s Surprise Surprise.

She then spent 6 years as acting series designer for the long running topical daytime show This Morning. She has always regarded this as excellent training in ‘Thinking on your feet’ in a fast-paced live broadcast environment. She thrived designing and realising temporary sets for the latest bands, celebrity chats, cookery, fashion and human interest in as little as a 3-day turnaround.

Rebecca also has designed and styled for a multitude of commercials and charity appeal films including Chelsea FC, Nike, XBOX, The Body Shop, BHF, RNIB, FASD and Sky Arts.

Rebecca has also art directed and set decked for various drama and soaps such as Brothers and Sisters, Family Affairs, EastEnders and Holby City.

In the early 2000s, Rebecca launched a mural business which grew very quickly from painting private homes to entire interiors and exteriors of public buildings, schools and hospitals. She still paints and uses her experience in set design regularly employing other scenic artists and various crew to help her realise her designs. This has now branched into theming educational sensory rooms and workplace corporate clients such as ITV Rebecca has designed a multitude award winning short films. She is now in preproduction for two short films to be shot in France for DrAx productions and a feature film for LonRom Pictures based in Italy and the UK.

Rebecca loves set decorating and buying for all sorts of productions. Last year she worked on a brand new four-part, ninety-minute surreal detective series for Acorn TV and a children’s series for Sky Factual both will be aired this year. Rebecca has been lecturing in film and TV production design for about 15 years at various film schools and universities. She also is often invited to critique student’s films at the London Film School.

Chi Yu

Writer/Director & Film Lecturer

Chi Yu is a Writer/ Director who graduated with a MA in Filmmaking at the prestigious London Film School in 2013. He was mentored by UK Producer Margaret Matheson in his final year. He was funded by Film London's London Calling and London Calling Plus Schemes and has had films shown at festivals in the UK and Ireland. He has been part of the BAFTA Crew scheme and has devised and taught courses for LFS's Outreach Department. He also mentored at Iconic Steps. Chi currently teaches Editing at London Film School, and sees himself as a sole-practitioner of filmmaking with all-round filmmaking skills. 

Andrew Speller, GBCT. ACO

Cinematographer

Andrew Speller is an experienced Cinematographer and Camera Operator with a professional career in the Film industry of over 30 years. An early passion for drawn, painted, photographed, static or moving images, developed into filmmaking.

Documentary experience shaped an intuitive awareness of being able to read situations as they evolved, to find the shots that supported the emotion and an ability to get the camera to where it should be to tell the story, readily transferred to narrative filmmaking in TV Drama and Features.

Andrew’s experience of working with high profile Directors and DP’s in both Film and Digital formats, informs his approach to teaching Cinematography.

In 2008 Andrew joined the prestigious London Film School as a Senior Lecturer in Cinematography. Now as a visiting lecturer Andrew teaches at several other film schools in the UK and EU.

Robyn Forsythe

Robyn’s most recent Line Producer credit is Steve McQueen’s anthology series “Small Axe” for the BBC. She was the Co-Producer on Romola Garai's directorial debut 'Amulet' alongside producer Matthew Wilkinson (‘Yesterday’), and line producer on sit-com “The Cockfields” for UKTV. 
 
Robyn’s debut feature is in post- production, with partner producer Serena Armitage (Oscar winning 'The Stutterer'), and director David Luke Rees. She was selected for the Edinburgh International Film Festival talent lab 2018, and was nominated as Best Producer at the Underwire Film Festival in 2017 & 2018. Her shorts have screened at BFI, Palm Springs, Aesthetica and many others.
