Happy Graduation is a story about very real and familiar psychological realities for young people, and yet realities that often feel heightened and exaggerated beyond what they truly are. We all know the cliché and yet so often accurate trope of the over-dramatic teenager who feels like every little hurtle and heartache is the end of the(ir) world. As far as humor goes, it’s precisely how real, heavy and terrifying it is for a young person to have a rumor spread about them, or having not been invited to a party.
