After years of traveling the world and critiquing food, Roman is losing his love of food. He returns to Prague, a place he used to call home, in search of what he calls a "perfect bite", but upon his return he is confronted with past memories of his ex-wife who died in a car crash years earlier. Still Roman hopes the new loudly praised Michelin-star restaurant Unalome can be his saving grace. Unfortunately he is met with more disappointment when the head chef Jax Whitmore serves him a basic dish of fish. This enrages Roman and results in him spewing his criticism to the chefs face. Jax does not take lightly to the critique, but out of their conflict forms a strange friendship that forces roman to confront his past and reconsider his perspective on food.
