About
Sonya G. Rosen has always loved to share stories; she started early performing in theatre summer camps and school plays. When she discovered directing, she never looked back. Indeed, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Theater Directing at Skidmore College. With a minor in Anthropology, she likes to say that she “majored in telling human stories.”
She came to LFS to explore filmmaking tools and techniques, loving this medium where she pursues directing today. She loves the intricate dance of technicality and artistry involved in the craft of film, and revels in the necessity of collaboration in making film.

Gorse Mother
It is Crab Skerry's first time joining the gorse game – the sensual, perilous coming-of-age ritual that the young villagers of Neverness perform every year. To win the game, Crab must dive into the field of gorse and emerge, bloodiest of all the boys, with an arrow bearing the name of one of the village girls. But this year the Gorse Mother (patroness of the ritual) interferes, and something will go horribly wrong with deadly consequences.
