Guest Film School at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival

We recently had the pleasure of being the Guest Film School at the 48th edition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. This was a wonderful opportunity for the School to be recognised for its role in nurturing emerging talent in film and its contribution to cinema. Six students joined us at the festival, where they had the chance to pitch their films, network with industry professionals and explore the world’s largest short film market.

Being the Guest Film School also meant we had a fantastic selection of alumni, graduation and archive films showcased during the festival. It was a real pleasure to shine a spotlight on these works and celebrate the achievements of everyone involved in making them at Le Court. Films included Simón Mesa Soto’s Leidi - his most recent film A Poet recently won multiple awards, Janis Pugh’s Blue Collars and Buttercups - her latest feature Chuck Chuck Baby won two BAFTA Cymru awards as well as Franc Roddam’s Birthday (1969), Ahmed Yassin’s Children of God, Chien Yu Lin’s Sound of Falling, Lara Zeidan’s Three Centimetres, Tom Stephan’s 21st Century Nuns (1994), and more.
