Claire Russell

Claire has worked in the film and television industry for over 25 years, starting with Walt Disney Studios in Los Angeles in the ‘90s. She transferred back to London and became Development Executive for the new UK Disney Channel, working on award-winning children’s programmes, including a comedy drama penned by Mark Haddon. She then moved to CBBC, where she developed teen dramas such as CAVEGIRL with Danny Peacock. 

Following this, she relocated to the north as BBC Scotland started up the indigenous soap RIVER CITY. Claire then moved to Scottish Television as Development Executive, developing and script editing REBUS starring Ken Stott.

Claire produced two dramas for World Producers (makers of LINE OF DUTY) for C4 and Sky and most recently produced HOLBY CITY and script editing FATHER BROWN. She has been working with three upcoming writers as part of the prestigious C4 Screenwriting Scheme 2023.
