Dan Clifton is an award-winning writer and director working across documentary and fiction, often on projects at the intersection of the two genres.
Recent work includes feature documentary THE CONSPIRACY: ASSASSINATION IN BEIRUT; and sci-fi short TRIGGER.CHARLIE.ONE, featuring David Morrissey. KILLING OF LEBANON. Docu drama work includes true crime series WEB OF LIES; history box set CIVILISATION; and STEPHEN HAWKING’S UNIVERSE. He previously directed award-winning shorts PATIENT 39, an adaptation of a William Boyd short story; and mathematical thriller THE CALCULUS OF LOVE.
Dan began his career as a journalist on ITN’s Channel Four News, where he worked as Political Producer before moving into documentaries. He was previously Chair of the Federation of European Film Directors (2015-2019)
