London Film School announces year-long digital archive release to mark 70th anniversary
London Film School (LFS) today announces a year-long YouTube archive series to mark its 70th anniversary in 2026, celebrating seven decades of filmmaking talent by releasing a curated selection of its archival films on YouTube throughout the year.
2026 LFS GRADUATE SHOWCASE BOOK
Thanks to everyone who took part in the London Film School Graduate Showcase 2026. The event includes screening 56 films, showcasing the work of 39 scripts and hearing 40 pitches and presentations. The event took place at the BFI Southbank.

London Film School (LFS) is proud to announce a significant presence at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), with student and alumni work represented across film selection, industry talent programmes, and special anniversary screenings.
Ukrainian filmmaker, Masha Novikova’s Glorious Revolution selected for La Cinef
London Film School graduate competes in renowned film school short film competition at Cannes Film Festival
London Film School (LFS) graduate Masha Novikova has been selected for La Cinef 2022 for her short film, Glorious Revolution. Set in 2014 at the height of the Ukrainian revolution, the film depicts a mother’s loss, as her son is killed while protesting in Independence Square. Her attempt to bury him as a hero clashes with the corruption in the bureaucratic system, testing her view of Ukraine.

Alumni Highlights
March was a busy month for our alumni with a number of successes and achievements across the board. MA Screenwriting graduate Taiyo Yoshida won the Best Film Script (19 and Over) for Get in the Groove in the Film The House Competition.
We Stand With Ukraine
The LFS community has been devastated by the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian State, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and millions of others, to condemn the actions of the Russian government in the strongest possible terms.
London Film School Director, Gisli Snaer, steps down

Gisli Snaer, CEO of London Film School to step down.
The London Film School today announces that Gisli Snaer, the CEO is to step down at the end of May this year.
The LFS Chair, Greg Dyke said “I would like to pay tribute to Gisli and all he has achieved in his six years at the school, the last three as director. In particular the Board thanked him for his success in leading the school through the very difficult Covid years.”

Sucking Diesel will screen its premiere at Dublin FF (Ireland). Writer-Dir: Sam McGrath.
