Financial Support for studying at LFS

The deadline for MA Filmmaking and MA Screenwriting September programmes are rapidly coming, and we want to make sure that every student can attend, no matter their financial situation. At LFS, you'll have access to an internationally renowned film industry network in the heart of London, taught craft excellence, and the ability to put sought-after credits to your name. Scholarships and bursaries are available to UK and EU/EEA students, highlighted below and Federal Funding is available to American students. Further funding information can be read here.

OfS REGISTERED PROVIDER | Postgraduate Masters Loans

London Film School is now on the OfS Register of English Higher Education providers allowing students to apply for the Postgraduate loans.

ScreenSkills bursaries are designed to provide financial assistance to those looking to enter, progress in, return to, or transfer into the screen industries. Our ambition is to ensure that the industry has access now, and in the future, to the skills and talent it needs for continued success by helping to unlock opportunities across all types of screen work.

Supporting an individual with a bursary to develop their career helps the screen industries to respond to skills gaps and priority shortage areas. We welcome applications from people in groups under-represented in the industry. 

Bursaries are supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funds, by industry contributions to the Film, HETV and Children’s TV Skills Funds and through money from the Television Skills Fund targeted at improving diversity and inclusivity. Deadlines and application available on 



The BAFTA UK scholarship programme is open to British citizens in need of financial assistance to take a post-graduate course in the UK. Each BAFTA Scholar receives up to £12,000 towards their annual course fees, as well as mentoring support from a BAFTA member, and free access to BAFTA events around the UK.

BAFTA’s UK Scholarship Programme is now open for Applications. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 28 May 2019.

The John Brabourne Awards (JBAs), run by The Film & Television Charity, is a talent development programme that supports emerging talent in UK Film and TV with financial grants.

The JBA Scholarship runs two rounds annually with deadlines of 31 January and 31 July.

LFS applicants for the MA Filmmaking or MA Screenwriting programmes, who are either UK, EU or EEA nationals, are eligible to apply to The Leverhulme Arts Scholarship.

To apply, you must be granted and accept an unconditional offer upon application to the School. To register your interest, please tick so on your application form.
