57 Degrees North is a poignant insight into the traditional island lifestyle of John Jo MacDonald, a 67 year old fisherman who has worked the sea his whole life off the remote island of South Uist in The Outer Hebrides. We witness how John Jo's way of life is under threat from environmental issues outside of his control. Full of character and Celtic charm, 57 Degrees North gives a voice to a humble fisherman whose opinions are based on experience and not just fishing quotas.

The American Documentary (AmDocs) Festival in Palm Springs was a real highlight for the team. Nick and Colette have since been in talks with Teddy Grouya, AmDocs Festival Director, who has included 57 Degree North for the AmDocs-Palm Springs Unified School District Education Outreach Program.
"80% of the kids who attend the schools here are living below the poverty line. AmDocs would like to reach these kids somehow, to educate, entertain and inspire them to go beyond what they may believe is possible. Films will be implemented into the curriculum of education in the USA." - Teddy Grouya
"To think that the film will be shown to these young children has been a very humbling experience and validates all the hard work." - Nick Jones
