LFS at The London Film Festival

The London Film School is proud to be involved with a variety of events and screenings at the upcoming London Film Festival (8-19 October).

MR. TURNER, the latest feature from LFS Chairman and alumnus, Mike Leigh, has a gala screening on October 10th. Click here for more details. We are presenting a related education event with Thin Man Film's Helen Grearson (see below).

LEIDI
Two LFS MA Filmmaking graduation films are in official selection. LEIDI, directed by Simón Mesa Soto, which was awarded the Palme D'or for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival, plays in the 'Summer Days Drifting Away' programme (15 & 18 Oct). The film was edited by fellow LFS graduate Ricardo Saraiva
HE TOOK HIS SKIN OFF FOR ME
HE TOOK HIS SKIN OFF FOR ME, graduation film of Ben Aston, plays in the 'Let's Talk About Sex' programme (9 & 10 Oct). Cinematographer is fellow MA Filmmaking graduate Yiannis Manonoplous, producer LFS Fast Forward participant Fiona Lamptey and writer MA Screenwriting graduate Maria Hummer. Ben Aston is also presenting the education event ‘How to Crowdfund Your Film’ (see below).

In addition,The Nostalgist, directed by Giacomo Cimini and shot by Gareth Munden, both LFS graduates, is screening in the 'Take me to the Other Side' programme (11 & 13 Oct). The Nostalgist won 1st prize for Best Short Film in the Generator Section of the Giffoni Film Festival, 2nd prize at Palm Springs and has also been selected for Fantastic Fest 2014.

LFS graduate Ben Aston shares his experiences of the many dos and don’ts of crowdfunding, having used Kickstarter to fund his short film He Took His Skin Off For Me, raising thousands of pounds from hundreds of people he had never met. Click here to book tickets.

LFS presents: A Producer’s Life - Behind the scenes with MR. TURNER

Having worked closely with director Mike Leigh and producer Georgina Lowe throughout the production of MR. TURNER, Helen Grearson (Thin Man Films/LFS Fast Forward producer) presents the evolution of the film from development to Cannes premiere. Click here to book tickets.
