Production Allowances for MA Filmmaking

Production Allowance

The MA Filmmaking course is made up of six terms (trimesters).  There are three terms each year: September to December, January to April and May to July.

The fees include all production costs for the film exercises in Terms 1-5 and a contribution to each student's graduation film project in Term 6.  Costs of graduation films vary and students are responsible for those costs in excess of the LFS production allowance. The Term 6 production allowance (equity investment and deposit return) must be claimed within three months of a student completing the programme and from the initial notification of their final results.

Production Allowance payments for students on the MA Filmmaking programme will be as follows:

Term 1:  £180 (per 3 students)
Term 2:  £220 (per film)
Term 3:  £668 (per film)
Term 4:  £2,000 (per film)
Term 5:  £2,680 (per film)
Term 6:  £5,069 (LFS Equity Investment – per student)

Production allowances amounts shown here apply only to MA Filmmaking students starting in the 2024 / 25 academic year
