Yevgeniya, Kazakhstan, Class of 2017
Reflections on the course:
"It was a great experience, which gave me a lot. I come from a completely different background, however I've always dreamt about shooting my own films. Here I got real tools to start with: I made an exhausting, but infinitely inspiring journey from absolute zero in directing to a filmmaker who is now much more confident in her abilities. Not a single minute here was wasted: I tried things, the results were different, I made mistakes, then got feedback, tried again and this way I developed as a filmmaker very quickly. Udayan is not only a great professional but also a person, whose true passion for cinema literally infects every student in the group.
Probably the most valuable knowledge that I have learned during the course is that literally everything in a good film is never made for no reason, and if something doesn't matter for the story - it's just useless. It made me think in a different way, it made me look at filmmaking differently, from another, much more logical and thorough angle."
